The first country to ban Islam

Due to the incessant terrorist activities perpetrated by Islamists to the detriment of peace among mankind in general and Angola in particular, Angola became the first country to ban Islam when it declared Islam illegal and shuts down all mosques across the country on 25 November 2013.

In Angola, clashes between Christians and Muslim people have been frequently reported in the local media.

The single fact that Muslims refuse to allow other religions to coexist with Islam, claiming that all non-muslims are unbelievers who should be killed according to the Quran, highly justifies the ban of Islam in the country for peace to reign.

Angolan President, Jose Eduardo dos Santos said: “this is the final end of Islamic influence in our country.”

Although President Obama spoke out about terrorist activities when he said: “there isn’t a president who’s taken more terrorists off the field than me,” but he would not support the ban of Islam as he believes in religious freedom.

Unlike Obama, Donald Trump as well as Czech Republic president, Milos Zeman, both say that Muslims should stay away from their countries.

The minister of culture Rosa Cruz e Silva said: “The legalisation of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights [and] their mosques will be closed until further notice,”

The Minister of Culture added that there is a legalization process through which so many religious sects are currently applying to get their religion legalized in the country.

According to the US State Department, Angola’s population of 16 million is predominantly Christian, with only 80,000-90,000 Muslims, the majority of whom are migrants from West Africa and families of Lebanese origin.

In 2012 Saudi Arabia’s top Muslim leader, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al al-Shaikh, issued a fatwa (religious decree) to demolish all churches on the Arabian peninsula. However, it is not clear if this order was actually carried out. – See more at: http://www.161718.info/news/a/angola-bans-islam.html#sthash.iOro8JOm.dpuf
