The Nigerian military has said that 76 starving Boko Haram terrorists who have seriously emaciated due to lack of food have surrendered to Nigerian soldiers in the north-east of the country.
This is a proof that the war waged by the Nigerian soldiers on Boko Haram is really having a serious toll on the terrorist group.
The so-called emaciated terrorists have confessed to the Nigerian military that there are lots of their fellow terrorists who are willing to confess and surrender themselves.
The terrorists gave themselves up in Gwoza, which is a small local government area in Borno state’s capital, Maiduguri. Boko Haram has killed thousands of innocent people and injured many more in Nigeria and it’s neighboring countries.
In another development, the Gwoza district local council chairman, Ibrahim Chikun, told reporters in Maiduguri that soldiers from Nigeria and Cameroon rescued 701 people held captive.
One can recall that Maiduguri is the birthplace of the dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram, who changed it’s name to Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) after voicing it’s support for and affiliating itself with the Islamic State terrorist group in Iraq and Syria, ISIS.
Just like Boko Haram, ISIS is a Muslim radical group which has taken over large swathes of Iraq and Syria.
While listing ISIS chief, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Al-Qaeda head Ayman al-Zawahiri and Taliban leader Mullah Omar, Boko Haram’s leader, Shekau said in a video, “My brethren… may Allah protect you,”
…”We were the ones who detonated the bomb in filthy Abuja,” Shekau was referring to the attack a popular shopping center that killed at least 22 people.
“A bomb went off in Lagos. I ordered (the bomber) who went and detonated it,” Shekau added in the video. …”You said it was a fire incident,” he added. “Well, if you hide it from people you can’t hide it from Allah.”
